Kamachi Sponge and Power Corp is expanding its steel plant at papankuppam village in Gummidipoondi taluk, Thiruvallur District by installation of additional Electric Arc Furnace, Concast Billet and Rolling Mill with Captive Power Plant of 120 MW. As of September 2014, the environment clearance for the project is underway.
