Wester Railway is planning to take up a railway track doubling project at Kutch and Banaskantha districts in Gujarat. The project involves the doubling of 34.66kms long track between Samakhiyali and Kidiyanagar in Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway, with an estimated cost of Rs.1694 million, and 29.48Kms long track between Bhildi and Diyodar in Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway, with an estimated cost of Rs.944.9 million. As of September 2014, bids for executing the project has been invited. Rail Vikas Nigam is implementing the project.
