Govt of Tamil nadu is planning to take up a road widening project followed by a flyover project at Valluvar Kottam High Road from the Nungambakkam High Road junction upto Independence Day Park, in Tamil Nadu. The project will completed in three phases, with each taking a period of six months. Work on the double flyover at Valluvar Kottam will begin after the road widening. As of October 2014, land acquisition for the project is underway.
