National Highway Authority Of India is setting up a project for four laning of Varanasi bypass in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed project involves the four laning of bypass from 0.00 km (starting point at 271.30 km of NH-56) to 15.25 km (end point at 11.17 km of NH-29) with four laning of NH-29 from 10.70 km to 12.00 km. As of November 2014, bidding process of the project is underway.
