THDC India, a joint venture of Government of India and Uttar Pradesh is setting up a coal based thermal power project at Khurja, Bulandshahar. For the proposed project NTPC has prepared the Pre Feasibility Report. As of December 2014, MoU for the project has signed between THDCIL and Govt. of U.P, and environmental clearance for the project is underway.
