Haryana Power Generation Corporation is setting up a 800 MW additional thermal power unit at PTPS Panipat by phasing out existing units 1 to 4. Panipat Thermal Power Station (PTPS) has already accorded EC for its proposed 2x250 MW expansion in the unit. As of February 2015, company has approached MoEF for clearances.
