Telangana State Power Generation Corporation is setting up a coal based thermal power plant at Veerlapalem & Dilwarpur villages in Nalgonda. The project involves the installation of 4400 MW power unit at Veerlapalem and 2400 MW power unit at Dilwarpur. As of February 2015, company has applied for forest clearances.
