Western Coalfields is setting up an expansion project at its Gouri Deep Mine at Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The project involves the expansion of processing capacity of mine from 0.40 MTPA to 0.60 MTPA. As of February 2015, company has received first level of clearances from MoEF.
