Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation is setting up an expansion project at its existing lignite mine, Surkha, Ghogha in Bhavnagar. The project involves the augmentation of mining capacity from 3 MTPA to 5 MTPA. As of March 2015, company has approached MoEF for clearance, company has already received first level of clearance from MoEF.
