North Eastern Electric Power Corporation is planning to set up a 85 MW Mawphu Hydro Electric Project (HEP) Stage II project in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state.The project will comprise of two units of 42.5 MW each. As of April 2013, the company has submitted the project feasibility report with the Ministry of Environment and Forests for sanction of terms of reference for EIA studies.
