Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution
Corporation is planning to set up a supercritical thermal
power project in Tuticorin District. Tamil Nadu
Government has alienated 305 hectares of land in favour
of the utility and acquisition of 114 hectares of land is
being processed. As of April 2013, Tangedco has invited
bids for EPC contract.
