Nagapattinam Energy is planning to set up a 1x150 MW Imported Coal Based Thermal Power Plant at village Karapidagai North, in Kilvelur Taluk, in Nagapattinum Distt., in Tamil Nadu. Imported Coal requirement will be 0.44 to 0.56 MTPA at 85% PLF. Coal will be imported from Indonesia. A total of 0.15 MTPA of fly ash and 0.04 MTPA bottom ash will be generated. As of December 2012, the project has received clearance from ministry of environment and forests.
