NTPC is planning to set up a 4000 MW thermal power station at Patratu in Jharkhand in joint venture with Jharkhand Bidyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd. The JV would build an efficient super critical project of 4,000 MW in two phases. As of May 2015, the company has signed an agreement with the state government of Jharkhand for setting up the project.
