Gujarat State Electricity Corporation is planning to take up renovation and modernization programme at Ukai and Wanakbori thermal power stations in the state. As of May 2015, the company has given contracts to Alstom and NASL for executing the project. As per the contract, Alstom & NASL will perform full shaftline retrofits of the 200 MW BHEL-supplied LMZ design steam turbines at Unit-IV of the 1,350 MW Ukai power station and Unit-III of the 1,470 MW Wanakbori power station.The scope of each project includes engineering, supply, erection, commissioning and testing. Equipment will be manufactured at Alstom’s facilities in India and Poland.
