Ministry of Road Highways and Transport is planning to take up 16 laning of NH-24 from near ITO till Dasna in Ghaziabad. The 16-lane project will include six-lanes as expressway, making it an access-controlled highway. The widening work is part of the Delhi-Meerut expressway project. The widening will commence from Yamuna bridge on NH-24 and will go upto Dasna via UP-Delhi border and eventually till Meerut. As of May 2015, pre project activities are underway.
