Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is plannig to set up a 30 MM waste to energy project in Taloja. As of May 2013, the company is planning to award a contract for the proposed plant to a consortium of Ramky Enviro Engineers, and Chinese firm Chongqing Sanfeng Environmental Industry Group.The plant will collect nearly 2,500 tonne of municipal waste from six municipal corporations including Kalyan-Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, Badlapur, Bhiwandi in the region.
