Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corp is developing the 2x800 MW supercritical coal-based Upper Thermal Power Project at Uppur in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. As of June 2015, the company has invited global bids for design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing & commissioning of boiler, turbine, generator (BTG) package & allied civil works related to BTG work related to the project.
