Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation is planning to develop a metro rail project that envisages 22.88-km north-south corridor connecting Lucknow Airport to Munshi Pulia with three underground and 18 elevated stations. Delhi Metro Rail Corp is the nodal agency for the project. As of August 2015, the project has been cleared public investment board (PIB) in the finance ministry.
