Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is planning to take up Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Zozila Tunnel including approaches on National Highway No. 1 (Srinagar - Sonamarg - Gumri Road) in the State of J&K . The proposed tunnel would be a 14.083 km long Single Tube bidirectional tunnel with parallel egress tunnel. As of August 2015, bids have been invited to execute the project on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (Annuity) basis .
