Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation is setting up a metro railway project in the city. The project will be funded on equal sharing of cost basis between the Maharashtra Government and the Centre. In June 2015, foundation stone for the project has been laid to mark the commencement of work. As of September 2015, the company has invited bids for Selection Of Consulting Services For "Conducting" Environmental Impact Assessment (Eia) Study And Environment Mitigation Plan For the project.
