Railway Ministry's Hotgi-Kudgi-Gadag Railway Line Expansion

Ministry of Railways is planning to take up doubling of the Hotgi-Kudgi-Gadag railway line from 134 kms to 284 kms. Hotgi-Kudgi-Gadag route is a single line rail link between Guntakal-Pune-Mumbai and Hospet-Hubli-Goa rail routes. This is an important rail link connecting the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai. As of September 2015, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the investment proposal.
