Ministry of Railways is planning to set up a Rail Coach Factory to produce state of the art Electrical Multiple Units ( EMUs), Mainline Electrical Multiple Units ( MEMUs) and Metro coaches through joint venture. About 150 acres of land is available with the ministry at the proposed site for this project. As of October 2015, the ministry has invited request for qualification bids for selecting the joint venture partner.
