West Bengal Power Development Corporation is planning to take up development and operation of Barjora (North) Coal Mine, in the Bankura District of West Bengal. The Barjora (North) Coal Mine is a 3 MTPA open cast coal mine with remaining coal reserves of about 56 MT. As of October 2015, WBPDCL has invited bids for selecting a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) to develop and operate the mines.
