National Highway Authority of India is taking up construction of a six-lane elevated corridor from Chandigarh to Kharar in Punjab. The project involves construction of 10.18 km of four-lane dual carriageway along with three elevated corridors of a cumulative length of 3.37 km. As of November 2015, the EPC contract has been awarded to L&T's transportation infrastructure unit.
