Bangalore Development Authority is planning to develop the Peripheral Ring Road project to decongest vehicular traffic in Bengaluru. The ring road will be a 65-km, eight-lane project around the Outer Ring Road. It will link Tumakuru Road and Hosur Road, intersecting Dodaballapur Road, Ballari Road, Old Madras Road and Sarjapur Road. As of December 2015, the union government has approved the investment proposal.
