Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation is planning to set up a petcoke based thermal power plant in Ernakulam district of Kerala. The Petcoke will be sourced from upcoming Kochi Refinery's integrated refinery expansion project. The feasibility report was prepared by INKEL in 2014. As of December 2015, KSIDC has identified 150 acres of land at Irimpanam ( belonging to Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd) for setting up the petcoke based power project.
