National Highways Authority of India is planning to take up construction and upgradation of NH-131A from 34.578 km near Narenpur to 81 km near Purnea (design chainage 6 km to 55 km) [Design length-49.000 km] to 4-lane standard in Bihar (Package-II). As of January 2016, NHAI has invited bids to implement the project on Hybrid Annuity Mode.
