Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is planning to take up development to four-lanes with paved side shoulders of Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur section of NH-70 (new NH No. 3) from existing km. 11.400 to km. 49.200 including construction of Hoshiarpur bypass. As of February 2016, MoRTH has invited bids for executing the project in an engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) contract under NHDP-IV in the state of Punjab.
