U P Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is planning to take up development of Purvanchal expressway from Bakkas (Lucknow district) to Sarai Chaubey (Barabanki district) (km 0.0 to km 43.1) access controlled expressway greenfield project in the state of Uttar Pradesh . As of February 2016, UPEIDA has invited bids to execute the project on EPC basis (Package-I)
