'West Bengal Highway Development Corporation is planning to implement four-laning of a 42-km state highway connecting two crucial national highways - NH 2 and NH 34. The project will come up in two phases - Dankuni to Chandannagar in Hooghly district, and Chandannagar to Barojaguli in Nadia district. As of May 2013, WBHDC has shortlisted the interested companies to which it will award the work order for Phase I.
