'Mahanadi Coalfields is planning to set up a 10 million tpa coal washery at Talcher in Orissa.The washery will clean and beneficiate coal produced by its Hingula-II Opencast Expansion Project - from four million tpa to 12 million tpa - which is already operational. As of May 2013, the proposal for this further expansion is under consideration by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).
