Oil & Natural Gas Corp is planning to set up a gas processing unit along with 30 MW power plant in Maharashtra. As of May 2013, the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) has prescribed Terms of Reference for preparation of the environmental impact assessment report and environment management plan for the gas processing plant. A site near Kelwa- Mahim has been selected based on study of 4 alternate sites. The draft environmental impact assessment report is to be submitted to the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for public hearing shortly. ONGC has indicated the assured gas supply from C-24 field and B-12 fields in Tapti Daman Block of Western Offshore Basin for the upcoming project in Maharashtra.
