'Surat Municipal Corporation is planning to set up a 6.3 MW wind power in Surat. The wind power project will cater to the electricity needs of Sarthana Water works and other water distribution centres of the city. As of July 2013, Power and Energy consultants, a Delhi based firm has been appointed as the consultant for the project.
