Power Grid Corporation of India is planning to take up construction of a 400 kV double circuit transmission line linking Cuddapah to Madhugiri. The project is to be implemented through a subsidiary , POWERGRID Southern Interconnector Transmission System Ltd. As of March 2016, the contract for executing the project has been awarded to Larsen & Toubro.
