'Chennai Port Trust has reported progress on its proposed mega-container terminal project at Chennai port which is to be developed under the public private partnership model. As of December 2012, Essar Ports is said to be the sole bidder for the proposed project. Of the total project cost, Chennai Port Trust's share will be Rs 5610 million, while the private partner, which will build, own and transfer the project, will invest Rs 31250 million.
