Rail Vikas Nigam is implementing a project for doubling of Varanasi (excluding)-Madhosingh-Allahabad (120.20 km) section in Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway. In this regard, As of May 2016, Rail Vikas Nigam has invited bids for construction of roadbed, major & minor bridges and track linking (excluding supply of rails and main line sleepers), signal & telecommunication and OHE & general electrical works in connection with the project. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 5032.5 million. The project is scheduled to be completed in 36 months.
