Vedanta , through its group company, Sesa Goa is planning to set up a 1 million ton per annum (MTPA) capacity steel plant in Jharkhand. The plant is likely to be located in Kharsawan in Seraikela-Kharsawan district and Manoharpur in West Singbhum district . The plant will require around 300 acres of land. The project is estimated to cost Rs.150000 million. As of May 2016, the company is in the process of preparing detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed plant.
