Chennai Metro Rail Corporation has reported progress on its Phase I, Stage II Metro Rail Project in Chennai. The project comprises metro rail route from Washermanpet to Wimconagar covering a length of 9.051 km. The project is estimated to cost Rs.37700 million. As of June 2016, The Union Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval for the project. The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2018.
