Konkan Railway Corporation is planning to take up pilot project of doubling the section between Roha and Veer, a distance of 49 kms. The project is estimated to cost Rs.2950 million. Track doubling will enhance the capacity 2.5 times and improve the average speed, besides enabling the KRCL to handle freight traffic. As of June 2016, the project is in the planning stage.
