Neyveli Lignite Corporation is planning to set up a 20 MW solar power project at Attam Pahar in South Andaman. The project will be established by NLC under an MNRE scheme, wherein the latter provides 40% of the capital cost as subsidy. As of June 2016, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has just selected NLC to develop the solar power project with a view to phase out the usage of the diesel generator.
