Neyveli Lignite Corporation is planning to set up a 30 MW solar power project at Kishorie Nagar in North Andaman. The project will be established by NLC under an MNRE scheme, wherein the latter provides 40% of the capital cost as subsidy. The proposed solar project will be linked with a pumped storage system of Kalpong Hydro Power Station. As of June 2016, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has just selected NLC to execute the project.
