Adani Agri's New Silo Project in Punjab

Adani Agri Logistics is planning to set up a new silo to store food grains like wheat at Kotkapura in Punjab. for Food Corporation of India. A silo is a steel structure, comprising large size cylindrical shape bins normally each with a capacity of about 12,500 tonnes, where grains can be stored without jute bags for longer duration. The proposed silo will have capacity to store 25,000 tonnes of food grains. The project is estimated to cost Rs.350 million. . As of June 2016, FCI has just awarded the contract to Adani. The silo will be designed, built, financed and operated by the Adani Agri while it will be owned by the FCI. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2 years.
