'Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab is planning to take up 6-laning of the Kharar-Ludhiana road in Malwa region of the state. The project comprises 68 km stretch from Sector-38 Chandigarh, to Ludhiana-via-Kharar, which will be converted into 6 lanes. As of July 2013 work on the project is expected to commence shortly.
