V .O.Chidambaranar Port Trust is planning to take up development of of north cargo berth IV for handling of containers and other clean cargo through public private partnership. The project is estimated to cost Rs.4866.8 million. As of June 2016, the port trust has invited pre-qualification bids for selecting the developer for the project.
