Madhya Pradesh Urja Vika Nigam , in association with Solar Energy Corporation of India is planning to set up a ultra mega solar power project in the state. The Ultra-Mega Solar Power Project will be set up in Gurh tehsil of Rewa district over an area of 1,500 hectares at an estimated cost of Rs.45000 million. A new joint venture company in the style of 'Rewa Ultra-Mega Solar Power Ltd' has been floated for implementing the project. The MoU has been signed between Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam and IFC for financial assistance in January 2016. As of June 2016, The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has signed a power purchase agreement for to get green power to run its trains in the national capital. The project is expected to go onstream by June 2017
