Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is planning to take up a new four laning highway project in the south-west coast of India. The work starts from Kerala Karnataka border to Kannur from km 17/200 to km 148/000 of NH-17 and from Kannur to Vengalam from km 148/000 to km 230/000 of NH-17. The estimated cost of the project would be Rs.12000 Million. As of September 2016, the project has just been announced.
