Satlej Jal Vidyut Nigam is setting up a 1,320 MW capacity greenfield thermal power plant at Chausa in Buxar district of Bihar. The project has been allotted a coal block located at Deocha Pachmi in Birbhum district in West Bengal by the Coal Ministry. A total 85 per cent of power generated from the project will be supplied to Bihar State Power (Holding) Company. As of September 2013, work on the project has commenced.
