Rail Vikas Nigam is planning to take up electrification of Hospet-Bellary-Guntakal section including Torangallu-Ranajitpura Section in Karnataka. As of October 2013, the company has invited bids for design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25 kV, 50 Hz, single phase, traction overhead equipment, switching stations, traction substations, SCADA, general electrical service works, along with civil engineering works ie. service buildings, quarters, tower car sheds and other associated works for the project.
