Nova Iron & Steel is planning to expand its sponge iron capacity at Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. The project comprises 1.0 mtpa Coal Washery, 2 x 500 tpd DR Plant, 248 sq.mtrs capacity Sinter Plant, (1 x 1008)+(1x 550) cu.mtrs capacity Blast Furnace, 1 x 600 tpd Oxygen Plant, 1 x 500 tpd Lime Plant , 1 x 500 tpd Dolo Plant, a Steel Melting Shop (SMS-I), 160 MW Captive Power Plant and a 1.5 mtpa Hot Rolling Mills for Bars/Rods/Section & Long Products. As of October 2013, the environment clearance for the project is underway.
