Punjab Infrastructure Development Board is planning to take up four-laning of Ropar-Balachaur-Nawanshahar-Banga-Phagwara road (upto NH-1) on DBFOT basis in the state of Punjab. The project involves construction and up-gradation of the existing carriageway (2-lane with paved shoulders and partly 4-lane) to 2 x 2-lane road with paved shoulders and construction of new carriageway for configuration of 2 x 2-lane road and other associated activities. As of October 2013, the bids have been invited to execute the project.
